Hoardo alpha is live!Try it

Home organization app Organize it once. Find it in seconds.

Hoardo is a free home organization app: put what you keep into numbered boxes and rooms, add each thing by photo, voice or typing, stick a QR label on the box, and search when you need it. The garage, the attic and the closet stop being places where things go to be forgotten.

100% free, no paid plan · Nothing to install · Works in your browser

The garage: every tote and shelf numbered, with how full it is.
How it works

Home organization in three steps

  1. Make a room for each space

The garage, the attic, the closet, the spare room. Give every box, bin and shelf in it a number, and a name if you like.

  2. Add what goes in

Take a photo of a box's contents and Hoardo lists what's in it, or say it out loud, or type it. A box takes a minute.

  3. Print the labels

Print QR code labels on plain paper or sticker sheets and stick one on each box. A scan opens it.

A declutter app for the things you keep

Most declutter apps help you decide what goes. Hoardo is for what stays: once it's in a numbered box with a photo, it doesn't quietly turn back into a pile. Hoardo won't tell you what to throw away. That part is still yours.

For the big clear-out, add your own dropdown, like Keep or go with Keep, Donate and Sell, and set it as you work through a box. Tick everything for the charity shop and set it in one go. What you sell goes on a selling list with a price, and your selling lists get a sale page to share, your own online garage sale. More on that in declutter and sell.

QR labels on every box and bin

Every box gets a label with its number and a QR code. Point your phone's camera at it and the box opens in Hoardo with everything that's in it, so you don't have to lift the lid or take down the tote from the top shelf.

Tick the boxes you want and print their labels in one go, on plain paper, A4 or US Letter sticker sheets, or a label printer. When the contents change, the label stays the same: only the list in Hoardo changes. More on what to write in storage bin labels.

Every room in the house

Think of Hoardo as an inventory organizer for the whole house. A room is whatever space you say it is, and a box is anything that holds things: a tote, a shelf, a drawer, a suitcase. Turn on photos and each thing shows its picture, which helps when three boxes all say “kitchen stuff”.

A garage organization app

Totes on the shelves, tools in the toolbox, the car and bike things on their own shelf. Lend the drill and see who has it, or keep a closer eye on tools with the tool tracking app guide.

Attic and basement storage organization

The places you visit twice a year. Baby clothes, keepsakes, paint and spare kitchen things, each box numbered so you can find the right one from the bottom of the ladder.

Closets

Hoardo keeps track of what's in each box or shelf of the closet, like the summer clothes under the bed or the ski things in a suitcase. It doesn't plan outfits; there are apps for that.

Seasonal and holiday

Christmas, Halloween and Easter totes that come out once a year. See holiday decoration storage.

Pantry

Count what's on the shelves and get told when the rice runs low. See pantry inventory.

Storage unit

Know what's in the unit before you drive there. See the storage unit inventory app guide.

The camping tote by its photos: tent, sleeping bags, stove and lantern.

Moving without mystery boxes

As a moving organizer app, Hoardo numbers every box as you pack and lists what's in it, so box 23 is never just “misc”. Put what you'll need on the first night on a packing list and tick things off as they go in: they show as out of their box until they're back.

When you arrive, make the new rooms, tick the boxes and move them all to where they ended up. Then search before you open anything. More in how to label moving boxes and moving made easy.

The first-night list: kettle, mugs and sleeping bags packed, the lantern and tools still to go.

Search it, scan it or ask the AI

Type a few letters in Search and Hoardo shows every thing that matches, with the room and the box it's in. Scan a box's label to see what's inside without opening it.

Or ask. Hoardo's chat knows your rooms and boxes, so “where are the winter tires?” gets a real answer, which makes it an AI home organization app rather than a list you have to read. If you already use Claude or ChatGPT, you can connect them to your Hoardo. More in AI inventory management.

Search for the tent: it's in the garage, tote #1.

Share it with your household

Invite your partner, kids or roommates to a room. Each person can edit or only view, so the teenager can find the camping gear without reorganizing it.

Every room and box keeps a History of what changed and who did it, and you can restore something that was changed or deleted by mistake.

Invite someone to the garage: they can edit, or only view.

Lend it and get it back

Put the folding chairs, the stove and the drill on a lending list with who borrowed them and when they're due back. Hoardo can remind you before or after the day, and anything late turns red.

The borrower is just a name you type. Your neighbor doesn't need Hoardo, and doesn't get an email from it either.

Lent out: the chairs to the neighbor, the stove to Tom, who is two days late.

Dates you would otherwise forget

Give a thing a date and tap “Notify me?”: on the day, or a few days before or after. Change to the winter tires next month, the borrowed tent that has to go back, the warranty on the dishwasher.

Hoardo emails you, the person who set it, and shows it in the app when you open it.

The winter tires' date, with a reminder a week before.

Working with a professional organizer?

An organizer can set Hoardo up for you: every bin numbered and photographed, labels printed, then the whole account handed over. See Hoardo for professional organizers.

What this home organization app doesn't do

Hoardo keeps track of what you own and where it is. It doesn't try to run the rest of the house:

  • No decisions for you: it won't tell you what to keep.
  • No outfit planning, meal planning, chores or family calendar.
  • No product lookup: scanning a barcode stores it or finds your things with it, but doesn't look up what the product is.
  • No offline mode: it runs in your browser and needs a connection.
  • No app from the App Store or Google Play: add it to your home screen instead.

Free, every feature included

Hoardo is 100% free, with no paid plan: every room, box, label, list and person you share with. There's no price per item and nothing to install. Call it a storage organizer app, a home storage app or an inventory organizer app: it's the whole thing, free.

Your things stay yours: export any room, all rooms or a list to CSV whenever you like. If you're looking for a home inventory app for insurance or just to know what you own, it's the same Hoardo.

Questions about home organization

What is a home organization app?

An app that records what you own and where it lives, so you can find it again without opening every box. Hoardo does that with rooms, numbered boxes and QR labels, and lets you search everything at once.

Is there a free home organization app?

Yes. Hoardo is 100% free with every feature included: photos, labels, lists, sharing and the AI chat. There's no paid plan.

Is Hoardo a declutter app?

Partly. It helps you keep track of what you keep, sort things into keep, donate and sell with a dropdown of your own, and list what you sell on a page you can share. It doesn't decide for you what to get rid of.

Does it work on Android and iPhone?

Yes, in the browser on any phone, tablet or computer. Add it to your home screen and it opens like an app. There's no app store app to install.

Is it a good household organizer app for a family?

Yes. Invite the people you live with to a room and pick whether each one can edit or only view. Everyone sees the same boxes, and History shows who changed what.

Can I find things without opening boxes?

Yes. Search shows every match with its room and box, scanning a box's QR label shows what's inside, and the AI chat answers questions like “where is the tent?”.

Can it look up products by barcode?

No. Scanning a barcode saves it on the thing or finds your things that have it, but Hoardo doesn't look up product names or prices.

Does it work offline?

No. Hoardo runs in your browser and needs an internet connection.
