Rental inventory softwareRent out your gear. Never double-book it.
Hoardo is free rental inventory software for small rental businesses and anyone renting out their own things: party gear, cameras, bikes, tools. Book things by the day on a rental calendar, see who has what and when it comes back, check kits out and in with a QR scan, and share one rental page where people ask for dates.
Free, nothing to install · No double bookings · Prices and deposits written down
Rental inventory management in three steps
List what you rent out
Add things from your boxes or type them in, each with a price per day or per rental and a deposit. A whole box rents as a kit, with everything in it.
Rent out or book ahead
Pick the renter and the days. Hoardo checks the rental calendar and won't let two rentals have the same thing on the same day, even when several people share your lists.
Hand over and take back
One tap or one QR scan when it goes out. When it comes back, count the kit, add photos, mark anything damaged, and take back part of it if the rest is late.
Everything a rental desk keeps track of
Built on the lists you already use in Hoardo, so renting feels like ticking off a list.
- Bookings by the day
- No double bookings
- Who has what, until when
- Late, today and coming up
- Kits counted back thing by thing
- Hand-over and return photos
- Deposits and payments written down
- QR check-out and check-in
- Rental history for every thing
- Spreadsheet export
A rental page where people ask for dates
Put your renting list on your public page, next to anything you sell. Renters see photos, the price a day, the deposit and the days that are already booked, never who has it or where it's kept.
They ask for dates with their name and email. You get an email and book it in one tap. Nothing is booked until you say so.
Free rental software, and what it doesn't do
Most rental inventory software costs $20 or more a month, and the free options usually mean hosting it yourself. Hoardo is free and runs in your browser on your phone or computer, with nothing to install.
It writes down prices, deposits and what's paid, and suggests a total and a late fee. It doesn't take payments, hold deposits, write contracts, insure your things or check renters, and it doesn't find renters for you: you share your rental page with the people you rent to and settle up the way you already do.
For party rentals, cameras, bikes and tools
Party rental inventory
Tables, chairs and tents as quantities, so ten chairs can go to two parties at once. Hoardo keeps the bookings; payments and delivery stay with you.
Small business inventory →Camera and gear rental
Bodies, lenses and kits with their batteries and chargers, counted back thing by thing, with photos from hand-over and return.
Keep track of tools and gear →Lending to friends
Not charging for it? A lending list keeps who has what and when it's due back, and emails you a reminder. No prices, no bookings.
Questions about renting things out
Is Hoardo's rental inventory software free?
Yes. Renting lists, bookings, the rental calendar, kits, photos and your rental page are free, and Hoardo takes nothing from what you earn. The AI help (adding things from photos) has a daily allowance while Hoardo is free.
Can I rent out my own stuff with Hoardo?
Yes: tools, camera equipment, party gear, a trailer or anything else you own. Hoardo keeps the bookings, who has what and your rental page. You bring the renters: it isn't a marketplace and doesn't find people to rent to.
Does Hoardo take payments or hold deposits?
No. You write down the price, the deposit, any extra charges and whether it's paid, and Hoardo suggests a total. Money goes between you and your renter, the way you arrange it.
How does it stop double bookings?
Every thing has its days on a rental calendar. Hoardo refuses a booking that overlaps one already made, for a single thing, for a box rented as a kit and everything in it, and for things you have several of, up to how many there are. Something that comes back late keeps blocking until it's back.
Is Hoardo party rental software?
It handles the inventory side of a small party rental: what you have, what's booked when, kits, deposits and returns. It doesn't do quotes, contracts, online payments or delivery routes. Larger party rental businesses usually need dedicated software for those.
What can I rent out to make money?
Things people need now and then but rarely buy: power tools and ladders, party tables, chairs and tents, speakers and projectors, cameras and lenses, bikes, trailers and camping gear. Start with what sits unused most of the year.
Do renters need the app?
No. Your rental page opens in any browser. People ask for dates with just their name and email address, and you answer by email.
Can I track things I lend to friends?
Yes, with a lending list: who has it, since when and when it's due back, with an email reminder. Use a renting list when you charge for things or need bookings ahead.
