Asset management software Every asset, where it is and who has it.
Hoardo is free asset management software for small teams: every laptop, camera, tool and projector sits in its room and box with an asset tag, gets checked out to whoever takes it, and shows up in red when it's late back. It runs in the browser on any phone or computer, so there's nothing to install.

Asset management software in three steps
Your locations are rooms
Make a room for each place assets live: the office, the store room, the studio, the van. In each, add a numbered box for every cupboard, shelf, case or cart, and write the number on the real one.
Every asset is an item
Add what you own by typing it, saying it or taking a photo. Give it a serial number, a model and a status with Hoardo's IT & equipment properties, or bring in the asset register you already have.
Tag it, then track it
Print an asset tag for every item and a QR label for every box. Scan a tag to open the thing, or to check it out on an asset list.
An asset management system that fits how you work
Switch on Hoardo's IT & equipment properties and every item can keep its serial number, model, brand, status, condition, purchase date, warranty end, supplier, department and next service date. Add the whole set in one tap, or only the ones you need. In the item's sheet they fold under one line, so they don't crowd the things you change every day.
Status is a dropdown with In use, In storage, In repair, Lost and Retired, and so is condition. Make your own properties too, as text, numbers, dates, yes or no, or a dropdown with your own options, and rename a room's “Box” to “Cupboard” or “Case” so the app uses your words.
Asset tracking with asset tags and labels
Every asset gets a numbered tag like NW-00042, with your own prefix. Hoardo counts up for you: tag new things as they're added, tag whatever you tick, or give everything on an asset list its tag in one go. The tag sits with the item's barcodes, so search and the scanner find it.
Print the tags as barcode labels, and QR labels for your boxes and cupboards, on A4 sticker sheets or a label printer. Scan one with your phone and the asset opens: what it is, where it lives and, when it's out, who has it. Barcodes already on your equipment can stay as extra codes on the same item.
An asset tracking app on every phone
Hoardo works in the browser on iPhone, Android and computers, and opens like an app once you add it to your home screen. The camera is the asset tracker: point it at a tag or a box's QR label. Keyboard-style barcode scanners work too.
Who has what, and when it's due back
Put the things people take on an asset list. Its button checks a thing out to a name you type or pick, with a back-by day and a reminder before it's due. Checked-out things show who has them, late ones turn red, and scanning a tag on the list checks it back in.
The list keeps each thing's status while it's in, so you see at a glance that the drill is in repair and the camera is free. Everything is written to the item's History: who checked it out to whom, and when it came back.
Asset inventory you can count
A stocktake list puts what Hoardo expects next to what you count. Tap + or scan as you go: matching counts turn green, short ones orange and too many red, and the line at the top keeps the score. When you're done, “Use counted quantities” writes the counts back to the items.
Consumables get a low-stock alert: say how many is too few, and Hoardo emails you when the batteries or the gaffer tape get there.
Asset inventory management with your whole team
Share a room with your team and pick what each person can do: edit, or only view. Lists are shared on their own, so a freelancer can tick things off the event list without seeing the store room. People sign in with an email code, Google or Microsoft.
Every item has its own History: added, moved, edited, checked out and in, each with who did it and when. If something was changed by mistake, restore it from there.
Warranties, services and other dates
Any date an item keeps can remind you: its warranty end, its next service, the day a lease runs out. Tap “Notify me?” beside the date and pick when, from the day itself to 30 days before or after. Hoardo sends an email and a notification in the app to whoever set it.
Add a receipt to an item and Hoardo reads the store, the price and the warranty from it, and can remind you before the warranty ends.
Bring your asset register
Drop your spreadsheet into Hoardo's chat: an Excel or CSV export, a Sortly export, even a photo of a printed list. Hoardo plans where everything goes, rooms from your locations and boxes from your shelves, and turns columns like Serial number or Model into properties. You check the plan, then bring it all over at once, and one tap takes it back if it's not right.
Your data stays yours: export any room, all rooms or a list as a CSV whenever you like.
Ask about your assets
Hoardo's chat knows your rooms, boxes, lists and properties. Ask “Who has the projector?”, “Which laptops are in repair?” or “What's in the event kit?” and get the answer with where it is. Connect Hoardo to Claude or ChatGPT and ask there too.

What this asset management software is not
Hoardo keeps track of physical things: what they are, where they are and who has them. Some jobs need other tools:
- No depreciation, book values or accounting: it's not a fixed asset register for your books.
- No maintenance schedules or work orders. A Next service date can remind you, and that's it.
- No software licences or seats, no device discovery, agents or MDM. A larger IT estate needs dedicated IT asset management tools.
- No accounts for borrowers: who has something is a name you type or pick.
- No audit reports or dashboards, and no SAML: people sign in with an email code, Google or Microsoft.
- No purchase orders, invoices or payments.
Free asset management software, every feature included
Hoardo is 100% free, with no paid plan: every feature, every room, every asset and every person on your team. There's no price per asset or per user to plan around.
Nothing is locked in either. Export your assets as a CSV whenever you want them somewhere else.
Questions about asset management software
What is asset management software?
Asset management software keeps a list of the things a team owns, like laptops, cameras, tools and furniture, with where each one is, who has it and details like its serial number and warranty. Hoardo does that with rooms, numbered boxes and items, plus asset tags you can scan.
Is there free asset management software?
Yes. Hoardo is free with every feature included: asset tags, labels, check-outs, counts, reminders and sharing with your team. There's no paid plan, however many assets or people you add.
What's the difference between asset tracking and inventory?
Asset tracking follows individual things you keep, like a projector, through check-outs, repairs and moves. Inventory counts things you use up or sell, like cables or stock. Hoardo does both: items can have a status and a holder, and quantities you count on a stocktake list.
Is there an asset tracking app for my phone?
Hoardo runs in the browser on iPhone and Android, and you can add it to your home screen so it opens like an app. Your phone's camera scans asset tags, QR labels and barcodes.
Can I use Hoardo as an asset management app for a team?
Yes. Share rooms with the people who need them, each able to edit or only view, and share lists on their own. Everyone signs in with an email code, Google or Microsoft, and History shows who changed what.
Can I track who has an asset?
Yes. On an asset list, check a thing out to a name with a back-by day and a reminder before it's due. Late things turn red, and scanning the tag checks them back in. The item's History keeps every check-out.
Can I import my asset register?
Yes. Drop an Excel or CSV file into Hoardo's chat. It plans the rooms and boxes from your locations and turns extra columns into properties, and you check the plan before anything is added. Start from our free asset register template if you don't have one.
Does Hoardo do depreciation or maintenance schedules?
No. Hoardo doesn't calculate depreciation or book values, and it doesn't plan maintenance. You can keep a Next service date on an item and get a reminder before it.
Is Hoardo for IT asset management?
For a small office's hardware, yes: laptops, monitors and phones with serial numbers, warranties, asset tags and who has each one. It doesn't discover devices on your network, manage them or track software licences. See IT asset management for what it does and doesn't do.
